joyful

if you haven't noticed, i've spent the evening playing catch up. clearly i've been sitting on some good stuff for a while now. sorry for the flood! i'm sure you don't mind that much ;o)

so, there is this abandoned greenhouse at which i've been dying to shoot. actually, every single time i drive by i think... "oh, i can just see the photos benjamin would make there." well, dang it, i was tired of thinking about it (now, i just want to go there again sometime and take him WITH me) so i just decided to check it out for myself (that and the camera loves joy and joy loves a good adventure too). we had a blast to be sure and i had a hard time just picking a few photos so you get the good and the... joy. anyway, here is the lovely joy in her subsequent senior photos! ;o)

mathew & lydia

i had a totally awesome time with my brother and his girl while i was out in DC. i hit the district on the earliest end of the cherry blossoms but we had some rockin' good weather for march. the national arboretum was definitely on its way to being gorgeous. i highly recommend a visit if you visit the capital city.

up my sleeve...

...i am hiding a little project... finally.

laugh so you don't cry

sometimes when i'm in a sad or bad mood i just start listing the things i love in life. try it, i bet you can't help but smile.

more soup for you

so its been a busy busy time since my return from the capital city but i have some more lovin here for you...

one night the brother and i wandered around the monuments. the day was GORGEOUS then coming up off the metro of course it was pouring rain. but we did it anyway. i was so wet but they were just so pretty. this first set of images was taken with Dory because Chester doesn't like the rain. Dory on the other hand, she just keeps swimming! I'm so funny. She did pretty good for a p&s with no flash!

Once we got to abe chester came out to play for a few. the top image is one of my favorites. i'm not a fan of noise but i'm doing my best to embrace it. i used a modified version of Benjamin's colour shift lightroom preset to edit. since the fastest lens i had was my kit lens and i did not have a tripod i'm not too disappointed by Chester's results.

after the rain came the best day of sunshine and wicked awesome clouds. oh yes.

stay tuned for some more DC fun at the arboretum!

hmm

so i have this friend who was taunted by this crane and i just didn't understand how a crane could be such a tease but then...

signs of life

the thing about easter is that it's all about life. eggs, a sign of new life. spring, flowers, animals, the planet coming back to life. but most of all the day we celebrate the new life we have in Christ. the spirit that brought Jesus back from the dead is the very same spirit that now makes us alive for the very first time. how amazing is that? i don't know about you but that makes my life.

136 eggs and 2 kids i love to spoil rotten = one really fun easter. grabbed a couple of shots with my favorite subjects but mostly my attention was all about the hunt. hope your easter was as blessed as mine.
